Important announcement about token distribution
Dear Akropolis Community!
As you know, KYC deadline for AKT token holders was December 15, 2020.
New wave of AKT token holders who completed the KYC in time will have vesting in place. You will receive your AKRO to the same ETH address you hold your AKT tokens in accordance with the vesting schedule - vesting monthly over 12 months thereafter (1/12 will be unlocked each month starting from December 25, 2020).
You will get the first batch of new tokens on December 25, with monthly distributions thereafter.

Community announcement: Token unlock
As you know by following the AKRO token release schedule (details here), the Foundation tokens are unlocked monthly up until June 2022. As we have not unlocked any tokens from vesting contracts since August 2020, we are notifying the community of the upcoming AKRO unlock from this contract. As partial unlock is not possible from vesting smart contracts, a full amount of ~300mn AKRO tokens unlocked to date will be released.
Here’s how the Foundation tokens will be used:
📍 Providing Liquidity:
- Due to the September security incident on Kucoin, the significant amount of AKRO tokens that were used for providing liquidity on CEXes remains locked on Kucoin and can’t be used for liquidity provision.
- We will therefore direct some of the newly unlocked tokens to provide liquidity on major CEXes and also will add liquidity to Uniswap.
📍 Liquidity mining rewards for Delphi users:
- Starting from next Wednesday, Dec 2, we will be increasing LM rewards for AKRO staking and adding AKRO rewards to pools that were impacted by the hack on November 12: Delphi Curve sUSD & Y pools.
- Adding AKRO rewards to savings pools is a temporary measure while we’re working on a compensation plan with investors, advisors, our legal counsel and law enforcement organisations.
📍 Stake AKRO into Delphi:
- We have always been dog-fooding our own products. However, to avoid user APY dilution, we haven’t been staking AKRO in Delphi since early September.
- As an additional gesture of commitment, we will lock a portion of Treasury tokens into the reopened staking pools.
The compensation plan is being developed, but as we’re a non-anon team, due process has to be followed involving multiple parties. As some of you may know, we have been using Delphi staking and saving pools since launch ourselves, and collectively we’ve also lost ca. US$230k in the hack.

Rewards Distribution Update
TLDR
Due to gas costs, we will be implementing limits on manual rewards distributions to make them more economical;
For today, rewards will be manually distributed to all users that have accumulated >$50.00 in total rewards (AKRO or ADEL);
Moving into next week manual rewards distributions will be occurring only on total rewards that are >$100.00;
Vesting rewards will be reflected into the Delphi UI this week, for monitoring purposes however, distribution will remain manual for some time.
Summary and Rationale
While ETH gas costs seem to have calmed down since the height of the LM mania, it remains uneconomical for projects to manually distribute staking/LM rewards that are below the cost to send a transaction with a very limited number of teams doing this. To be transparent, it costs >$7,000 USD bi-weekly to distribute rewards for our ~4,000 users. As this negatively impacts the burn rate of Akropolis treasury funds, we have decided to limit rewards distributions to certain thresholds. Today we will be manually distributing rewards to all users that have accrued >$50.00 in total rewards and moving forward we will only distribute rewards manually once users have accrued >$100.00 in total rewards. We understand that receiving rewards on a limited basis impacts our users, but we believe that the money saved in doing so will be better served by enhancing our product. Finally, we will be incorporating vesting rewards into the Delphi UI by the end of the week so that users can monitor their rewards. Having said that, we will still be manually distributing rewards for some time into the future to save gas costs for almost 4,000 of our users - enabling Delphi and LM to be accessible for even those with smaller funds.

As you know, initial deadline for Token Swap (AKT <> AKRO) was April 16, 2020. As some people missed the deadline, we are reopening the possibility to swap AKT to AKRO for the AKT token holders, who passed KYC.
The final deadline for passing KYC will be November 15, 2020. Please do complete the procedure before the final deadline, otherwise, we can not guarantee that you will be able to swap AKT to AKRO.
Taking abovementioned into account, we highly encourage everyone to complete the procedure in time 👾
What do you as AKT token holder need to do?
- Go to our website akropolis.io/tokenswap;
- Insert the original contribution’s ETH address (where you hold old AKT tokens);
- Agree to the Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy etc;
- Click “Submit”;
- Pass KYC available via hyperlink (how to instructions https://sumsub.com/how-to-pass-verification/);
- You will receive an email from Sumsub after successful verification (please make sure you pass it fully & it is not rejected);
